St. Patrick's Day drunk driving accidents in Houston

I have double reason to look forward to March 17th and St. Patrick's Day each year. One reason is that I'm originally from Ireland and grew up celebrating the holiday. The other reason is St. Patrick's Day is also my wedding anniversary: Amy and I will be married 12 years this coming Sunday. Since coming to the States in 1993 I've enjoyed celebrating St. Paddy's Day here too.

With the St. Patrick's Day celebrations of course comes the tendency to have a drink or two, which in and of itself is perfectly fine...provided you don't get in your car afterwards. Houston and the greater Harris County area has a huge drunk driving problem: barely a weekend goes by in Houston that one or more people aren't killed in an alcohol-related crash.

If you're going out for St. Paddy's have a great time, but plan ahead for how you're going to get home, and make sure that plan doesn't involve you or someone you're with driving drunk. A first time DWI charge will cost you thousands upon thousands of dollars in fines, increased insurance premiums, legal fees, and so on. If you seriously hurt or kill someone while driving drunk it could cost you your freedom.

If you or someone you know is injured by a drunk driver over the St. Patrick's Day weekend, contact me and I'd be glad to help
