Mark Cordero reportedly killed in motorcycle accident with pizza delivery driver

Local media is reporting that a man named Mark Cordero was killed yesterday evening in a collision between his motorcycle and a car delivering pizza. Channel 13 states that Mark Cordero and Patricia Buscemi were heading westbound on FM 1097 near Willis, Texas when the pizza delivery car turned in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle T-boned the car, throwing Mr. Cordero from the motorbike. Ms. Buscemi was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

It appears this accident happened at night. Unfortunately motorcycle accidents such as this are the result of drivers of larger vehicles only half paying attention and not seeing the single headlight of a motorcycle approaching. While motorcyclists are often blamed for collision, statistically it is more likely the larger vehicle is actually at fault. How awful for Mr. Cordero's family and friends; hopefully Ms. Buscemi will pull through. If a fund is set up to help pay for costs, please email me the information so I can include it here.

Update: this accident was covered by the Montgomery County Police Reporter, whose story identifies the pizza delivery driver as Mark Corallo from Huntsville, Texas.

Update: a friend or family member has created a Facebook profile to provide updates on Patricia "Trish" Buscemi's condition. According to the page, as of Tuesday Trish was in Memorial Hermann Hospital downtown (perhaps referring to the Medical Center). All the best to Trish for a successful recovery.
