Drunk driving accident deaths in Texas commemorated with flag display

A field in Texas City just outside Houston is currently displaying 1,547 American flags, one for each person killed in a drunk driving accident in Texas in 2011, the last year that statistics are available. According to the Bay Area Council on Drugs & Alcohol, which is sponsoring the "Healing Field," Texas leads the nation in alcohol-related traffic deaths, and Houston tops the State of Texas.
