According to the Houston Chronicle, 26-year old Kira Lebedzinski has been charged with drunk driving for a Saturday morning motorcycle accident that killed a motorcyclist, and her husband 28-year old Richard Gonzalez has been charged with DWI and evidence tampering. Lebedzinski was reported to have been driving a 2005 Cadillac in the 12400 block of SH 249 around 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, according to a HCSO press release. She made a left turn, failing to yield the right-of-way to approaching motorcyclist Artemio Castillo, and the motorcycle crashed into the passenger side front fender of the Cadillac.
Although he was wearing a helmet, Artemio did not survive the crash. According to the press release Lebedzinski was drinking with her husband before the accident and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter. A Channel 2 article said Lebedzinski admitted to drinking at a bar. Apparently after the crash, Lebedzinski called her husband Richard Gonzalez to the scene, and when he arrived he attempted to drive the Cadillac away but was prevented from doing so by onlookers. Gonzalez was also determined to be driving drunk, so he was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and tampering with evidence. HCSO's investigation is ongoing.
