The identity has been release of a 62-year old woman fatally struck while crossing S. MacGregor Way Wednesday evening. At around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening Deborah Crump and her husband were walking to their parked car in the area of 4314 S. MacGregor Way, not far from MacGregor Park. After the accident Ms. Crump was rushed to Houston's Ben Taub General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police said Ms. Crump and her husband had just left a party when a Chrysler Pacifica traveling eastbound hit her. The driver promptly stopped and there was no indication that alcohol or drug impairment was a factor. According to the Houston Chronicle's story, the area where the accident happened was poorly lit. The accident remains under investigation.
Update: according to a West University news web site, Deborah Crump was a School Nurse at River Oaks Baptist School in Houston. Based on a comment to the article, it appears Mrs. Crump originally hailed from the U.K.
